The power of vitamin B1

Vitamin B1 is otherwise known as thiamine or aneurine. It is soluble in water. Thiamine is resorbed in the small intestine, but it is not stored in the body and excess is removed by the kidneys. Symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency are: digestive disorders, nystagmus, fatigue, concentration and memory disorders, lowered mood and depression, edema.
Role of vitamin B1 in the organism:
- co-participates in the proper functioning of the nervous system,
- contributes to maintaining normal energy metabolism,
- supports functioning of the cardiovascular system,
- influences correct functioning of muscles,
- reduces free radicals,
- accelerates wound healing and reduces pain.
